Goals The International Association of Worldloppet Skiers (IAWLS) has been created with a double goal: 1) Forward to the WL Organization skiers' recommendations for the improvement of WL races. 2) Make available to skiers practical advice on races, accommodation, local transport, etc. The basic philosophy is that we are WL enthousiasts but we are also consumers and wish to get the best possible service for our money. There is a mutual interest between WL and the skiers which can be shortly stated as: "no skiers, no race / no organizers, no race"! Structure IAWLS is a flexible body with no membership fee, no budget, no secretariat and no statutes. The goals, structure and working method described here may evolve depending on the needs and the experience. Working method In principle once every year, the committee will draw up a letter containing suggestions for the improvement of WL races and send it to the WL General Secretariat. The committee plans also to build up a data bank containing practical advice for skiers. Both actions rely on contributions coming from skiers. For example, the recommendations sent to WL must be based on the views of a large number of skiers (preferably experienced skiers, but we appreciate also the special problems encountered by newcomers).
