Birkebeiner Rennet

In 2022 the famous Norwegian Worldloppet race Birkebeinerrennet is going to take place again after the cancellation of past winter. On 18th and 19th March 2022 again thousands of skiing enthusiasts are invited to make their way over the mountains between Lillehammer and Rena.

The registrations for 2022’s Birkebeinerrennet are already open and for all who join early, the organizers have a special gift: Everybody who is registering for Birken 2022, TurBirken 28/54, SkøyteBirken or StafettBirken gets free access to online live workouts with the Norwegian ski stars Marit Bjørgen and Martin Sundby. These online live sessions are going to begin on August 16th and last until the race weekend in 2022. Additionally you will get tutorial videos about ski equipment and technique and Marit and Martin will also share little glimpses of their daily life. Of course, you also have the possibility to ask your questions to the two Norwegian superstars.

Sondre Sunby and Ragnar Bragvin Andresen are also part of the team. Sondre is Martins brother, and has been his coach since 2014. Ragnar is an expert when is comes to roller skiing, and will provide guidance for both beginners and experienced skiers.

All in all this project will help you to get the best experience possible in Birken 2022.

(Attention: The sessions will be in Norwegian. But still you can talk in English with Marit and Martin.)

First events are already allowed in Lillehammer

Before the winter 2022 is going to start, the OC of Birken is going to carry out two other mass events. Loval and national authorities have given their OK for the plan to carry out the Birkebeinerrittet – a bike event – and the Birkebeinerløpet – the running event. Only a negative covid certificate or a test on site is needed.
