Best snowfalls in years at Merino Muster venue
In 2021 the tracks won’t be an issue for the organizers of the Merino Muster. Indeed, the organizers are talking about the best snow conditions in years at Snow Farm, the venue of New Zealand’s Worldloppet race. But also the Covid-19 Delta variant has arrived New Zealand which makes the race on 4th September uncertain.

The chances are good, that the 42km FT race is going to be held on 4th September, as the Covid situation is good on the South Island. So the organizers are confident to start at least a local race: No international participants, but locals: “Of course we miss our international participants, but also our New Zealand competitors are very important to us!”, says Mary Lee from the organizing team.
To help the potential participants in the uncertainty around the race day, the early bird registration has been extended to the 2nd of September. The organizers also see the possibility to postpone the race one or two weeks, if the restrictions and regulations make that necessary.
Next update is coming this week.
