The worst news are arriving us from Austria: The Dolomitenlauf 2022 had to be cancelled on the last meters. Tomorrow (22.01.2022) the first race should have taken place in skating technique and on Sunday the classic race. But the local authorities have withdrawn the permission to carry out the race. The final decision was made today noon, not even 21 hours before race start.

“This is a great disappointment for us. We feel very sorry for every participant, for the volunteers and the organizers of Dolomitenlauf who did everything in their power, to make the traditional race happen.”, is the first statement from Epp Paal, Worldloppet CEO.

“More than 500 skiers from 20 nations are already here in the area, but now there won’t be a race…”, say OC chief Franz Theurl disappointed.

The upcoming Worldloppet events Marcialonga (30.1.) and König Ludwig Lauf (5.-6.2.) are still on the program as planned.
