Transju Track Talk: Still challenging weather situation

Once a week the OC of La Transjurasienne, the 5th stage of the FIS Worldloppet Cup, provides the latest information about weather and snow conditions, the state of the tracks and the forecast.

Transju Track-Talk – February 1, 2017

After the warm temperatures and rainfalls the past several days, only the Massacre and Risoux massifs are skiable in good conditions with up to 50cm of snow cover.

The sections of the Transju track situated at lower altitudes and in the valleys are only practicable where snow was reinforced with around 10cm of snow cover.

Technicians are working non-stop to stock, conserve and to reinforce the track and our possibilities are still numerous.

All decisions concerning the Transju track will be taken and made public in the afternoon of Monday, February 6.

Weather forecast for the days to come: warm temperatures without precipitation until the end of the week, followed by a weekend of alternating snow and rain.

Cooler temperatures and snow is in the forecast until the middle of next week and then cold, clear weather should persist through the Transju weekend.

Stay tuned for the last Transju Track Talk at the beginning of the week before the Transju weekend!
