Transju Track Talk: Wind challenges the grooming team

Once a week the OC of La Transjurasienne, the 5th stage of the FIS Worldloppet Cup, provides the latest information about weather and snow conditions, the state of the tracks and the forecast.

Transju Track-Talk – January 24, 2017

The Transju tracks are still white and skiable in good conditions from Lamoura up to the sector Chaux-Neuve to the finish in Mouthe. Between Chaux-Neuve and Mouthe strong North winds took its toll, damaging the tracks but we’re doing everything we can, working with what we have to be ready for Transju weekend.

As announced last week, negative temperatures have allowed our grooming team to consolidate the sensitive zones of the track that are particularly vulnerable in the case of warm temperatures and rainy precipitation. The consolidation work should be done by the end of this week.

Snow level
: 35 cm in the valleys – 75 cm in the massifs

Forecast:  Weather forecast for the rest of the week maintains negative temperatures for the most part with slightly warmer temperatures but with no precipitation.

More Transju Track-Talk on Tuesday, January 31.

Happy training to all!
