Almost 10.000 EUR Collected At Tartu Charity Summer Event
The cross country season is over and the organizers are already working on next year’s editions of the world’s best skimarathons. But of course the Worldloppet family doesn’t have to wait until December for new competitions. The most Worldloppet races are organizing summer competitions like Tartu Marathon for example:
Tartu Jooksumaraton is the biggest cross-country running event in the Baltics. This year a total of 8872 took part in the different events of the 34th Tartu Jooksumaraton. This highlight video covers all four days of the action:
The running festival begun on the 25th of April with the official training where a total of 350 runners and nordic walkers took part. On the 6th of May Charity Run collected money for a 3-year old girl called Cassandra who is suffering with a very rare skin disease. Total of 1314 people took part and 9529€ was collected.
7th of May was the day for childrens’ events. Total of 3579 children ran different distances, while the adults ran the main distances 23km and 10km one day later. Ibrahim Mukunga Wachira of Kenya won the mens race and Kaisa Kukk of Estonia was the best female runner.
