90 percent of Gatineau Loppet’s tracks are open
Not only Europe received new snow, but also Canada. The Organizing Committee of Canada’s Worldloppet stage, the Gatineau Loppet, pronounced that 90 percent of all the trails in Gatineau Park are open and ready for training. Specially the tracks used for the Gatineau Loppet are in perfect conditions and accessible.
The main race – 51 km Freestyle – is going to take place on Sunday, February the 28th. It has the Worldloppet gold-status, same as the 51 km Classic-race on Saturday. There are also other distances to run: 5km, 15km, 27km in both techniques. Even a snowshoe race and a sprint race will attract both, the canadian and foreign skiers.
This year Gatineau is also the venue of the first stage of the Ski Tour Canada, a part of the FIS Worldcup.
