Best young cyclists from Europe will be riding in Tartu this August
European Road Chmapionships will take place in Tartu, Estonia this year from 6th-9th of August. Best young cyclists from Europe will be coming to the university town of Tartu this year. 30 different countries and about 400 riders are expected
2015 is the last year when European Road Championships will be for under 23 year old riders only. A total of 8 set of medals will be awarded – 4 for both women and men, junior and U23 age groups, time trial and road race.
Estonia has been successful in the cycling European Championships two times – in 2006 Rene Mandri won road race silver medal and in 2007 Rein Taaramäe won silver in time trial.
„Road race course should be very good for our cyclists,“ said head coach of Estonian cycling team Toivo Suvi. „U23 male riders have competed on the exact same course numerous times during Tour of Estonia“.
Organizer of the European Road Championships 2015 is Club Tartu Marathon which organized Road EC also in 2004. European Road Championships have been organized since 1973. Main organizer is the UEC (European Cycling Union).
