International skiers return to Sapporo Skimarathon
The 43rd edition of Japan’s Worldloppet race, the Sapporo Skimarathon is going to take place on February 5th. The excitement in Japan is big, as this will be the first edition after four years of cancellation. For foreign skiers it is now possible again, to enter the country. The organizers are working hard on the preparations.
This season a new venue is awaiting the skiers: The Shirahatayama Open Stadium. The main race is going to take place over a 50 km course, the shorter distances are 25 km, 10 km and 4 km. Also a sit skiing race is standing on the program.
As side event, the participants could make a visit in the center of Sapporo, where the Sapporo Snow Festival is going to take place at the same time (4.2. – 11.2.).
