VI Traditional Demino Cross-Country Cycling marathon SCOTT
On August, 23-24 2014 in the Ski Sport Center Demino the VI Traditional Demino Cross-Country cycling marathon SCOTT 2014 was held.
Competitions were opened with children’s races, which were attended by young athletes from 2 to 12 years old. A big occasion “A guest of elks” was specially arranged for them. For children also was arranged an entertainment program with contests and presents.
After children’s competitions was “up and down” race with interval start. Best athletes in their age groups got the right to start from the elite starting corridor in the main race. The same evening the traditional “Pasta-party Barilla” took place.
On Sunday athletes from all over Russia came to the start of the marathon (67 km), shortened (45 km) and short (23 km) distances.
For the third time the overall winners of the main race was married couple Elena and Maksim Gogolevs. They showed the best results for men and women. In parallel the team event was held.
The Demino cycling marathon was the first stage of traditional Demino marathons Cup Atomic Salomon 2014-2015. The second stage will be Demino running half-marathon, which will be carried out on September 28, 2014.
