Course of Demino Ski Marathon Worldloppet-2014 will be held in three 15 km lap and will be 45 km long.
On February 26, 2014 after coming back of our main specialists of the Ski Sport Centre Demino from Sochi Olympic Games and marathon course inspection for readiness, was decided to carry out the Demino Ski Marathon Worldloppet-2014 in three 15 km laps and to shorten the distance to 45 km.
There have been written a lot about the incredibly snowless winter, when 30 degrees frosts gave way to weekly zero temperature, accompanied by sleet and rain. At the moment, the snow cover on the marathon course is from 5 -10 cm. After the last thaw and rains the variant of 50 km lap is not considered due to the fact that over the car road Rybinsk – Shashkovo – Tutaev causeway hadn’t frozen over, which were frozen in rivers in prearranged places where the marathon course will be.
Now the course preparation is conducted with groomer machines. Groups of volunteers from Rybinsk are expected in Demino, they will pour snow by shovels at the problem parts of the course. Aware of the situation and building on the experience of our Worldloppet friends from other European countries, the Organizing Committee asks participants to prepare equipment (skis and poles) of average quality, as in some places of course snow cover can be mixed with grass and small twigs.
Instead of the 25 km classic style race is scheduled to organize the race in two 15 km laps, the total length will be 30 km CT on March 16, 201.
We want to calm Worldloppet and Russialoppet passports holders, that stamps will be put in full compliance with Worldloppet and Russialoppet rules.
