Finlandia Ski Marathon will take place on February 22-23
Finlandia Ski Marathon has already been confirmed but at this point it
seems it can be organized on its regular course. Early winter has not
been very snowy around Lahti region, but due to last weekend’s
snowfall, the situation has significantly improved on Finlandia Ski
Marathon course.
“Weather forecast is also promising more snowfall within a week”, says
secretary-general Tiina Hernesniemi.
Organizers had a meeting about the situation on Monday and decided to
continue preparations as normal.
“We will be evaluating the snow situation and its impact on the course
next week on Monday. One of the back-up plans is to ski on Vesijärvi
(lake). So Finlandia Ski Marathon is for sure being organized and we
welcome all skiers to participate”, Hernesniemi adds.
Registration period (normal price) has been extended until February 11.
