Jiz50 – still in need of a starting bib?

CEZ Jizerska 50 giving a second chance, offering unused starting places

There is good news for everyone who did not manage to register in the 47th CEZ Jizerska 50. Today the organisers launched a starting-number exchange, thanks to which those interested in joining the event can purchase registrations from racers who cannot participate for whatever reason.

All starting numbers for the main race of the 47th CEZ Jizerska 50, which will take place in Bedrichov from 10 to 12 January 2014, were snapped up over the course of one hundred days. Hundreds of would-be racers were thus unable to register for the event. However, all of them now have a second chance, as the organisers of the prestigious cross-country race have launched a starting-number exchange.

Racers who registered but cannot participate in the race will offer their starting numbers within the exchange. Those who are interested in the subsequently offered numbers can register and obtain a number with a surcharge of CZK 200. “This year around a thousand new participants registered for the 47th edition of the event, so it is clear that a number of usual participants were left out. For them, this is an ideal and possibly also the last chance to get to the starting line,” says David Douša of Mather Activation, the agency organising the event.

Racers who obtain a starting number for the Jizerska 50 via the exchange will be assigned to starting waves according to their performance and their achieved times on the same trail. The last available places in the Intersport Jizerska 25 and Volkswagen Bedrichovska 30 races can be obtained in the online registration.

It is possible to register in the starting-number exchange via the Jizerská 50 Facebook profile. More information is available at www.jiz50.cz.
