Jizerská 50 reports sell-out two months before start

Exactly two months before the start the organizers stopped accepting registrations for the 47th Jizerská 50 contest to take place on 10-12 January 2014.

A few free numbers are still on sale in the Intersport network. There is also extraordinary interest in the accompanying races, 25 km classic and 30 km free-style.In all, 4 800 racers from 30 different countries will line up at the start of the 47th Jizerská 50 in January.

For one in four of them it will be a premiere in the legendary race. Stars of cross-country skiing Thomas Alsgaard, Stanislav Rezác and the Aukland brothers will take part, and perhaps also Lukáš Bauer who took second place in 2013. The Czech number one will start if he withdraws from Tour de Ski.

“We are jubilant that we have succeeded in selling out the main race and a month earlier than last year, to boot” said Marek Tesar from the firm Mather Activation, which participates in the organization of Jizerská 50 as marketing partner. “Over the last few years we concentrated on services for the participants – we widened the track, separated the 50 and 25 kilometres classic races – plus we are preparing some innovations for the year 2014.”

By selling out Jizerská 50 joined the long-distance skiing elite, such as the Vasa cross-country championship in Sweden, the Italian Marcialonga or the Norwegian Birkebeinerrennet, with which it forms the series Swix Ski Classics.

The Jizerská 50 weekend also offers some accompanying races: the classic-style Intersport Jizerská 25, where the number of registered racers is close to a thousand, free-style Bedrichovská 30 with more than four hundred registered participants, children’s’ competitions, and the Company Relay Race.?
