Vasaloppet 2014 fully booked in 10 minutes!

Entry registration to Vasaloppet’s winter week 2014 opened at 8.00 a.m. on Sunday and, after 10 minutes, Vasaloppet itself was fully booked. None of Vasaloppet’s earlier arrangements have been fully booked so quickly in its whole 89 year history!  Even the increasingly popular StafettVasan was also fully booked during the morning.

Before the 2013 record year – when the number of entries, starts and finishes in Vasaloppet’s winter week were all more than ever before – the classic Vasaloppet was filled in the then record time of 11 days. The enormous interest for skiing in Sweden seems just to grow and grow.

“It is, of course, absolutely fantastic to have such a response and for us to be involved in motivating so many people.  That one registers an entry as early as this means that, for very many, our winter week becomes the focus and goal for a whole years training, which is precisely what we aim to be, a motor for health, physical activity and training all the year round. And for those who missed getting a start in Vasaloppet, there all our other races to choose from, amongst others 18,000 places in Öppet Spår,” comments Vasaloppet’s CEO Anders Selling.
