H.R.H. Prince Carl Philip started with start number 16 today!
H.R.H. Prince Carl Philip, with start number 1611, started today at 09.00 in StafettVasan 2013. This 90 km long relay race from Sälen to Mora is shared into five sections and the prince skis his teams’ first section from Sälen to Mångsbodarna, which is 24 km. StafettVasan 2013 has 1,600 registered teams, which means a total of 8,000 skiers out on the course.

The prince will not be giving any official interviews or photo possibilities in connection with his participation in StafettVasan.
There has been a considerable Swedish royal participation on the Vasaloppet course over the years: King Carl XVI Gustaf, Vasaloppet 1977 with time 8.12.41; Öppet Spår 1987 with time 7.09.45; Öppet Spår 1997 with time 7.37.00; Prince Carl Philip, Öppet Spår 2004 with time 6.21.52 and SkejtVasan 30 km 2012 with time 1.38.33; Princess Madeleine, TjejVasan 2008 with time 2.22.19.
About StafettVasan
StafettVasan is a relay race for five person teams which is run over the whole 90 km Vasaloppet distance from Sälen to Mora. StafettVasan is a race with something of a humorous glint, with the keenest supporter groups and, undoubtedly, the most roars of laughter. It is also the race which is growing fastest in popularity. StafettVasan 2013 was fully booked on 28 March 2012 and when 200 extra team places were released on 5 September 2013, they were taken within 89 minutes! Many companies and businesses choose StafettVasan as a joint goal in their keep-fit and training activities. Groups of friends, and families, take it on as a mutual challenge, something new and different.
