We are only one week away from another Worldloppet winter! As world federation for popular skiing, we our winter lasts the whole year: Our three races on the southern hemisphere are on the program now. One week to go to the Ushuaia Loppet 2024 (and Marchablanca) in Argentina’s Ushuaia – the so called “End of the World”. Snow conditions are good in Tierra del Fuego; however, in some areas, the snow is sparse and at the limit.

In just a few days, the international skiers will be arriving in Ushuaia, a fantastic city with a community ready to welcome them with the best hospitality. “We are eager to see you and thrilled that you will be participating in the Ushuaia Loppet – Marchablanca. We are a small race in a unique location. Thank you so much for coming all the way to the end of the world!”, so the invitation from the OC.

Practical information for the participants of Ushuaialoppet 2024

Please note that it is difficult to find ski wax in Ushuaia stores, so it is recommend that those who need it bring their own. There is no waxing service at the race.

During the stay at the end of the world, one might enjoy visiting some of these attractions:

• The Francisco Jerman Cross-Country Ski Track, owned by the Club Andino Ushuaia, located 6 km from the city center on the way to the Martial Glacier.

During registration, one will need to complete the waiver and health declaration form. This is a mandatory requirement. Kit collection will not be allowed without the signed document.

Accreditation on the 2nd level of the Paseo del Fuego Shopping Center, located at 1460 Perito Moreno, Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego.

Race Day – Sunday 18/08
9.10:  Transportation for those who require it and confirm in the accreditation. From: 700 Maipu Avenue, across from School no.1
9.45: Skiers arrival at Centro invernal
10:15  Course closes and warm-up period finishes, skiers enter start area
10:30 Start bell of the 35 st Marchablanca 21 Km and 11 Ushuaia Loppet 42 Km
12:30  Start bell of the Marchablanca 7 km
11:45  Approximate finish time for race Marchablanca leaders.
13:00 Approximate finish time for race Ushuaia Loppet leaders.
The General Award Ceremony of the 42 km, 21 km will be held once the first 3 and the first 3 of each competitive event have been classified.  Skiers are asked to appear on the podium wearing their race bibs.
15:30 Transport to Ushuaia.
