From 17 to 19 January 2025, the time has come again: Austria’s largest cross-country skiing event, the Dolomitenlauf, will once again take place in Osttirol. Over 2,000 athletes from all over the world now take part in the international Worldloppet competition. Under the motto ‘Everyone a winner above themselves’, Olympic champions, world champions, professionals and amateurs take on the sporting challenge over 21 or 42 kilometers in classic and/or free style. The venue for this legendary winter sports event is Obertilliach with its Nordic Centre at 1,450 m above sea level.

Snow guarantee for Dolomitenlauf 2025

In the past 15 years, the Dolomitenlauf has never been cancelled due to snow. Thanks to the cooperation with the cross-country skiing hotspot Obertilliach in Osttirol, there has always been a snow-guaranteed course, both for the skating competition on 18 January 2025 over 42/21 km, as well as for the race on Sunday, 19 January 2025, when the traditional Dolomitenlauf in classic style over 42/21 will be held. There is also a snow guarantee from the organizer: in the event of a cancellation, the entry fee will be credited for 2026 or a refund will be made.

In addition, the 55th Dolomitenlauf will once again feature a Dolomitenlauf Easyrace over 5 km in free or classic style – a taster of the fascinating Nordic world. The aim is to give less trained cross-country skiers, children and young people the opportunity to experience the flair of a popular cross-country race. There is no entry fee for children up to the age of 14. So every participant can be sure that the Dolomitenlauf 2025 will be a personal sporting experience according to the motto ‘Everyone a winner above themselves’.
