The Challenge of the ‘Mur de la Stria’

A standout feature of the 70 km race is the Mur de la Stria, one of the most iconic and challenging climbs in the world of long-distance skiing. With an average gradient of 9.9 % and peaks reaching 20 %, this climb has become a defining moment in the race. Since its introduction in the 50th edition, it has ignited intense battles for victory, adding to the race’s allure and difficulty.

Last year’s winner, Runar Skaug Mathisen, made a decisive attack near Predazzo, maintaining his lead through the Mur de la Stria. This year, favorites like Kasper Stadaas, Andreas Nygaard, and Max Novak will contend for the crown, while Stadaas, known as one of the “pasta boys” of Team Ragde Charge, is eager for redemption after finishing fifth in 2024.

A Celebration of Skiing and Community

The Marcialonga isn’t just about the race—it’s a celebration of community and tradition. Thousands of skiers, volunteers, and spectators come together to create an unforgettable atmosphere in the Fiemme and Fassa valleys. Tonight, the traditional Marcialonga Story is going to take place. With this event, the long history of Marcialonga should be celebrated. Hundreds of skiers use material and clothing from past centuries.
