Lovera and Ducordeau Claim Victory in La Transju’

The 45th edition of La Transjurassienne delivered a spectacle on snow despite challenging conditions. At the finish line of France’s largest cross-country ski race it was Victor Lovera and Juliette Ducordeau of Team Vercors Isère who emerged victorious, ringing the iconic Transju’ winner’s bell.

In the men’s 40 km skating race, Lovera triumphed in a thrilling sprint finish, edging out Julien Arnaud and Gérard Agnellet. “I’m obviously very happy to win,” Lovera shared. “It was my first Transju’, and I knew I was in good shape. The course was tough, but I loved the atmosphere.” Meanwhile, Ducordeau dominated the women’s field, establishing an early lead and never looking back. “It was really hard but so much fun,” she said. “The Transju’ atmosphere is amazing, and I’m thrilled to experience it for the first time.”

Classic Victory for Vuillet and Fine

The Transju’ Classic 50 km race, held on Saturday, saw Simon Vuillet and Hanna Fine emerge as champions. Vuillet, a local skier from the Jura region, made a decisive attack in the final lap to secure victory. “Winning here is special for me,” he said. “I grew up with the Transju’, and this race means everything.” Fine led the women’s race from start to finish, managing her pace masterfully. “Everything went well—my body, my skis—it was a beautiful race,” she reflected.

A Festival of Skiing for All Ages

Beyond the elite competition, La Transjurassienne once again proved to be a festival of cross-country skiing. Nearly 4,000 participants took part over the weekend, representing 37 nations. From the youngest skier at six years old to the oldest at 90, the event embodied the spirit of endurance and camaraderie. “The smiles at the finish line are the greatest reward for our efforts,” said Pierre-Albert Vandel, President of Trans’Organisation. “The Transju’ spirit lives on!”

Despite the challenges posed by limited snow, organizers ensured a high-quality race, adjusting the course to a 13.3 km loop completed three times. The dedication of volunteers and race officials kept the magic of the Transju’ alive, inspiring skiers from across the world. With eyes already set on 2026, registrations are open, offering returning skiers a special discount.
