Marcialonga 2026: Showtime in the Fiemme and Fassa Valleys
The countdown is over: this weekend, the 53rd Marcialonga takes center stage in the heart of the Dolomites. Perfectly prepared tracks, buzzing villages and thousands of skiers from around the world will turn the Fiemme and Fassa valleys into a true festival of cross-country skiing. On Sunday, January 25, the legendary race unfolds over 70 km from Moena to Cavalese, with the Marcialonga Light finishing in Predazzo after 45 km and the full-distance athletes facing the iconic Cascata climb and the feared Mur de la Stria.
As one of the cornerstones of the Worldloppet Ski Federation and a highlight of the Ski Classics Pro Tour, Marcialonga once again attracts the very best of long-distance skiing and in addition thousands of Worldloppeters from all around the world. At 8:00 a.m., the elite field will set off first, led by yellow-bib holder Amund Riege (Team Aker Dæhlie), defending champion Andreas Nygaard (Team Ragde Charge), and a host of strong challengers wearing the climber, sprinter and youth leader bibs. On the women’s side, stars like Anikken Gjerde Alnæs, Stina Nilsson and Silje Øyre Slind promise an exciting race where tactics, strength and timing on the final climb will decide everything.

Italian hopes are high as well, with athletes such as Michaela Patscheider, Mattia Armellini, Lorenzo Busin and the experienced Dietmar Nöckler ready to challenge the international favorites. Add legendary names like Tord Asle Gjerdalen, young sensation Alvar Myhlback, and Olympic medalists Odd-Bjørn Hjelmeset and Thomas Alsgaard, and the stage is set for an unforgettable edition.

Beyond Sunday’s main event, Marcialonga is a full weekend celebration: Marcialonga Story on Friday, children’s races and charity events on Saturday, and the official Welcome Party for Worldloppet Masters on Saturday afternoon 16:00 in Cavalese. One thing is certain: Marcialonga 2026 will once again prove why it is one of the most iconic races in the Worldloppet family.
