Emilie Fleten and Kaspar Stadaas win the snowfight at Marcialonga 2026

“Cross-country skiing is still a winter sport and an outdoor sport!”, said Angelo Corradini – Worldloppet Honorary President – yesterday evening at the official opening of Marcialonga 2026. A fact, that made it a tough day for the 7000 skiers of the 53rd edition of Italy’s Worldloppet race. In the early morning hours it started snowing big flakes and has never stopped anymore. At least 10 cm fresh snow – during the day even more – was covering the artificial-snow tracks between Moena and Cavalese. Conditions the Norwegians seem to like: Four of six podium places go to Norway!

In a tough fight on the final climb, Kaspar Stadaas was able to position himself on top of the leading pack and later on the finish stretch he was able to defend it in the final sprint against Amund Riege – also from Norway – and Alvar Myhlback – youngest Vasaloppet winner form Sweden.

In 2024 the ladies winner of Marcialonga was Emilie Fleten. In 2025 it was Emilie Fleten. And in 2026… correctly! Again the winner is Emilie Fleten from Norway. With this three victories in a row she makes herself the queen of Marcialonga. 19 seconds later, compatriot Silje Oeyre Slind claims the second place, before third from Sweden, Jenny Larsson.
