From a Warm Start to a Sauna Finish
As you plan your 2027 Worldloppet season, make sure to mark February 27–28 for Tartu Maraton. For 2027 only, the event will take place one week later than usual due to the IBU Biathlon World Cup in Otepää.
Get ready for the race indoors at Tehvandi
The new Tehvandi stadium building, completed ahead of the 2026 event, has brought the essential pre-start services indoors. Skiers can now collect their race bibs, get changed, use the toilets and also – enjoy a hot cup of coffee while making their final preparations before heading to the start line.
Recover in the sauna at the finish
The sauna area at the finish in Elva was expanded in 2026, giving skiers more space to warm up, unwind and swap stories from the course with friends and fellow Worldloppet participants.
“The course will always be at the heart of Tartu Maraton, but a skier’s experience begins well before the start and continues after the finish. We want participants to have a warm place to prepare at Tehvandi and an equally warm welcome waiting for them in Elva,” says race director Indrek Kelk.
The 53rd Tartu Maraton weekend includes both classic and free-technique distances:
Saturday, February 27
- 31 km FT – Silver stamp
- 31 km Vintage – Silver stamp
- 31 km Team relay (3 skiers) – good preparation and a course check-out for the next day
Sunday, February 28
- 63 km CT – Gold stamp
- 31 km CT – Silver stamp
