A season opening kissed by the sun in Argentina

Athletes at the start

Big success for the 9th Ushuaia Loppet and 33th Marcha Blanca that took place yesterday Sunday August 18th in the Tierra Mayor Valley, at the very bottom of Patagonia near Ushuaia – in the so-called “fin del mundo”, the end of the world.

More than 350 registered skiers joined the race, where the weather really exceeded every possible expectation: with the sun illuminating each sector of the route and the mountains giving a unique natural framework to the two races – the athletes could be part of an exceptional event.
From 10 in the morning, the pre-competitive movements were accentuated waiting for the classic campaign bell, which launched the South American event for cross-country skiing par excellence, opening event of the Worldloppet series.

The first to leave were the 130 framed in the Ushuaia Loppet 50k and the Marchablanca 25k, taking into account that they turned one or two laps on the route demarcated by the organization, headed by its CEO Pablo Valcheff. The start was consumed at 10.50, while at approximately 11.10 it was time to give free rein to the more than 200 skiers who were encouraged to the 7.5 km Promotional.
