Armellini defeats Stocek and wins Vasaloppet China 2026
4th January at 10:00 the start gun shot in Jingyuetan Park, Changchun China, for 2026’s edition of Vasaloppet China. 700 participants from all around the globe started over the two main distances of 25 km and 50 km, hundreds more for the shorter distances.
While in the ladies competition the podium is completely Chinese, in the men’s race we saw a tough fight between an Italian and the title holder from last year from Czechia.

After the first lap, the leading group became smaller and smaller every kilometer, until only two contestants remained for the fight for today’s victory: Fabian Stocek from Czech Republic, who has won Vasaloppet 2025 and the Italian Mattia Armellini. After a close final sprint, the Italian won by 4 hundreds of a second. The third place also goes to Italy, to Lorenzo Busin.

Vasaloppet China 2026 Women Results
Less close the ladies race was decided. Chinese Ling Shuang Chen provided a one-woman-show and claimed the victory. Also the second and third place go to China: Ran Jin on second place and Lei Li – who won in 2022 – on third place.

After the race, at the famous Vasaloppet Night Gala Banquet, Worldloppet’s Honorary President Angelo Corradini awarded about 25 new Worldloppet Masters and Global Skiers.
