47th Bieg Piastów in Szklarska Poręba-Jakuszyce lasted from February 25th to March 5th. It consisted out of nine races, including two for children. Seven runs with electronic time measurement were completed by 5,621 people, which is almost half a thousand more than last year. This represents an increase of around 9 percent. The turnout was higher for all distances.

For the first time the Bieg Piastow was organized with a start/finish and its logistic and social facilities at the Lower Silesian Sports Center Polana Jakuszycka. Competitors could sign up in one place, pick up their bib number, change clothes, leave their belongings in the deposit, go to the start, only a few dozen meters away, and after the end of the run, take a shower and eat something. President Worldloppet Juha Viljamaa said, that “the new venue rises the organization of Bieg Piastów to a much higher level!”
