König Ludwig Lauf

König Ludwig Lauf and the 2nd FIS Worldloppet Cup stage coming

Are you ready for the second stage of the FIS Worldloppet Cup? You better are, because the Cup circuit is already travelling to the next destination. Tomrrow and on Sunday, the 45th edition of the German König Ludwig Lauf is going to take place. The main race on Sunday, the classic one, is also representing the 2nd of 7 FIS Worldloppet Cup stages 2018.

French dominators, local heros & Swedish chasers

After French victories in the first race of the season, the Dolomitenlauf two weeks ago, the other marathon skiing elite skiers are waiting for revenge. In the ladie’s competition the dominator of the last 2 winters & the opening stage in 2018, Aurelie Dabudyk, is going to ski in the red bib. But Maria Gräfnings from Sweden, 3rd place at the Dolomitenlauf & Dabudyk’s biggest concurrence last season is just waiting for her chance to catch her. Also the Swiss top skiers Seraina Boner & Rahel Imoberdorf & Czech’s constantly good performing Klara Moravcova are names we’d better have a look on.

For the men, Gerard Agnellet, the 2nd place at the Dolomitenlauf, is going to lead the pack. Probably followed by his team mates from Team Haute Savoie Nordic, Ivan Perrillat-Boiteaux, Loic Guigonnet & others. The strongly performing Jobstation Rossignol Team including the current cup leader Adrien Mougel is missing this weekend because the French skiers are going to represent their home country at La Foulee Blanche, a French marathon. Of course we have to count with Max Olex, adidas XCS team, who surprisingly won his home race last year. Also Petter Soleg Skinstad from Norway is a name we have to watch out for.
