Gatineau Loppet

Louise Poirier is the new President of Gatineau Loppet

The Gatineau Loppet Board announced the election of the new President of the Canadian race yesterday: the new elected president is Louise Poirier.
Louise is a well-known face in the field of cross-country skiing, both in Canada and abroad, being a coach, an athelete, an organizers and a volunteer, besides having reached the Worldloppet Master title! She has been involved in the organization for 31 years as a member of the Board of Directors of the Gatineau Loppet. At this year’s Gatineau, Ms. Poirier was also inducted into the Legend’s Path, the Gatineau Loppet’s hall of fame, alongside none other than Alex Harvey during the 2020 edition.

“I wish to thank Jean-François Rochefort for his generous contribution as President for the past two years, I am ready and willing to take over the torch. The organization is in sound financial health and our incredible volunteers are key to the success of the Gatineau Loppet. Our challenge will be to adapt to the new reality following the pandemic, which we are ready to do. The Gatineau Loppet is on for 2021 – in a format to be defined according to public health directives. We are already hard at work.”

Ms. Louise Poirier

Good luck for this new task, Louise!
