Worldloppet Statement on the Participation of Russian and Belarusian Skiers

Worldloppet continues, in line with IOC and FIS decisions, its policy not to allow Russian and Belarusian athletes to participate at Worldloppet races.

Elite Athletes

Elite athletes with Russian or Belarusian citizenship who hold an active FIS code must apply for approval through FIS, in line with its current guidelines and approval procedures, and be granted Individual Neutral Athlete (AIN) status before they can compete at Worldloppet races.

This exception does not apply to recreational skiers.

Recreational Skiers

Worldloppet member organisers may, but are not obliged to, accept recreational athletes (who do not hold an active FIS code) of Russian or Belarusian nationality who also hold citizenship of another country or are permanent residents of a country other than Russia or Belarus.

If accepted, these skiers must register using their other citizenship or country of permanent residence.

Nationality and National Symbols

Russian or Belarusian nationality must not be published on start lists or result lists.

The display or use of emblems, names, acronyms, combinations of colours, flags or anthems linked to Russia and Belarus is prohibited at all Worldloppet events.
