Vasaloppet China taking place as domestic event
On January 4th the Vasaloppet China should open the Worldloppet winter season 2022 and the new year. For a long time it was not clear, if the race can take place due to very strict restrictions because of the ongoing pandemic. Now it is clear: The 20th edition of Vasaloppet China is going to take place on 4th January as domestic event. Only Chinese residents will ski the 50 km or 25 km in Jingyuetan Park (tourist visas are not issued).
Virtual Edition as opportunity for Internationals
For internationals there is still an opportunity to join the Vasaloppet China in 2022: The Vasaloppet China Home Edition. Everybody can join the event online and do the challenge at home, either on skies, rollerskies, bike, running boots or even SkiErg. The available distances are 50 km, 25 km and 10 km. Among all finishers of the challenge, the organizers raffle prizes from their suppliers and sponsors.
Meanwhile, in Jingyuetan Park of Changchun, the OC is already working on the tracks and start and finish area, which was moved to the Vasaloppet Museum. Also the famous snow sculptures are under construction already.
