Cancellation in Canada bringing a new virtual challenge

The news coming from Canada are not unexpected, but still sad: The Gatineau Loppet has just announced the cancellation of their 2021’s ski marathon.

“We have looked at multiple scenarios in order to present a safe event in our beautiful Gatineau Park. Nevertheless, we must face the fact that, like almost every cross-country ski event in Canada, the in-person Gatineau Loppet has to be cancelled for the first time but we are not giving up.“

Loise Poirier, Gatineau Loppet President

The organization is now focusing all of its energies on a virtual event in order to present participants with an original and stimulating winter challenge. “The details will be announce soon!”, says Poirier. This virtual race will allow skiers from all around the world to be part of the 43rd edition of Gatineau Loppet. The registration will be launched in January 2021. By then, all detail will be revealed.

This means, the Virtual Racing League is becoming another challenge more. Do you want to become a Virtual Racer too? Join the Virtual Racing League, collect seven virtual events and get your title.
