Bieg Piastow

The 45th Bieg Piastów, in Szklarska Poręba/Jakuszyce due to anti-covid restrictions is organized as solo race. The participants can either do the “original” Bieg Piastow on the real race course with official time keeping, or anywhere in the world in the virtual edition. Both solutions are carried out as non-competitive race, but with the open track event on original tracks, the finishers can get a stamp in their Worldloppet Passport.

Never before the Bieg Piastow has taken place for such a long period: The participants have 16 days to choose (20.02. – 7.03). So, only one weekend left. In the program of the festival are 7 distances, from 6 to 50 km. The three most important are the Worldloppet races: 25 and 50 km CT as well as 30 km FT.

The impression of the 1.600 racers after 11 days of the event have two sides of a medal: Of course we miss the mass start, the competition, the atmosphere, but on the other hand, there is now crowd at the start and on the track, which ensures comfortable and fast skiing. Now the organizers even think about adding this open track format to their race calendar also in the coming years.

Official time keeping on the official track in Jakuszyce over the last days of Bieg Piastów: 5-7.03.2021 8:00 to 17:00.
