The mild weather of february has given unusual quantity of snow on the Birken course. No one can remember having seen so much snow in Sjusjøen and the mountains around. This is the paradoxe of this winter. “ We have literally to dig the cabin at Midtfjellet (picture), last service before Sjusjøen, out of the snow to get inside. There is more than 2 meters of snow” says Tor Skraastad, course manager. This is the snow situation for most of the course, although start at Rena has less snow, still more than enough.

The weather forecasts indicate more snow coming days and packing the snow on regular basis gives the best quality of tracks.
