Tartu Lounakeskus and Club Tartu Maraton invite all children to the 42^nd Tartu Maraton children’s races that take place already on this Saturday, 16th of February in Tartu, Tähtvere Sports Park. Last year there were 1645 small skiers in the races and this year the organisers expect up to 2000 children.

Children races that take place one day before the legendary Tartu Maraton are free of charge. All children are welcome – small and big ones, girls and boys. “Distances vary depending on the child’s age from 500 meters until 4 kilometres. Schedule is much more diverse this year which means there is more space in the start. There are also some minor updates in the courses making them more executable for all children in any age,” says Kunnar Karu, project manager of Club Tartu Maraton. He also reminds everyone that children races are not a competition, all children receive a number one bib.

Just before the children races begin, 20 minutes before the first start, different mascots of Club Tartu Maraton partners make their own race. This offers lots of entertainment and fun for the children! Children races are held from 11:00 until 13:00.

With 42^nd Tartu Maraton children races Tartu Mini Complex Event 2013 will be opened. In addition to skiing marathon, the complex event includes SEB Tartu Jooksumaraton, SEB Tartu Rattaralli and SEB Tartu Rattamaraton. Complex event is ideal way to give children opportunity to enjoy the experience and joy of sports throughout the year!
