The Lesach Valley in Osttirol is one of the most beautiful high valleys in Europe with an authentic, unique natural and cultural landscape. In the mountaineering village of Obertilliach, the cross-country skiing and biathlon centre is often the venue for competitions. For many years, the Dolomitenlauf has been held here in January, one of the best-known popular cross-country races in German-speaking countries and part of the Worldloppet series.

The cross-country season starts early here at 1,450 metres above sea level.
