Demino Ski Marathon – part II
Demino Ski Marathon has finished. The organizers made the preparations during the whole year. The athletes will remember the second day of the sport event with Silver and Junior Races. Baby Marathon has become a present for the ski fans.
Little athletes at the age from 3 to 7 years opened the second day of the sport event in Demino Skiing Center with Baby Marathon. They had to overcome 1 km distance. 125 young Russian athletes from Rybinsk, Yaroslavl, Moscow and other cities participated in Baby Marathon. The eldest among them were nearly seven years old.
One kilometer distance for most of them is a real marathon. That is why according to the experience of Tartu Marathon the organizers decided not to define winners. Every little athlete became a winner and got a prize.
When Baby Marathon athletes were finishing, adult athletes started for Silver CT 25 km race. HARUO TSUCHIYA (Japan), who is 78 years old, started for CT 25 km race with the first starting number, WORLDLOPPET master. Starting List amounts to 337 athletes as a whole. Professional athletes and ski fans came to Demino from 27 countries of the world. One and half kilometer before the finish Eduard Kovyashov, World-class athlete (Russia) was leading. He became the prize winner of Silver Race. Andrey Tsirulnikov (Russia) was the second prize winner. Mikhail Klimov (Russia) was the bronzewinner.
Ksenia Konyukhova (Russia) won Silver Race among ladies. She gained revenge for yesterday and won the gold medal for CT 25 km race. Tatyana Yambaeva (Russia) became the second prize winner. Elena Matveeva became the third prize winner.
Juniors raced for CT 5 km, 10 km and 25 km. Ruslan Karaev (Russia) was the best for CT 25 km, Dmitri Maslikov (Russia) was 40 seconds later, Vitali Shvets (Russia) was the third. Among ladies Yulia Koludarova (Russia) was the first prize winner, Anastasia Shutkina (Russia) was the second prize winner, Margarita Markina (Russia) was the third prize winner.
For CT 10 km race Maxim Pushkarev (Russia) became the first place winner, Ivan Lapshov (Russia) became the second place winner. Maxim Malenkin (Russia) became the third place winner. Among ladies Nina Nikiforova (Russia) became the first place winner, Tatyana Kozlova (Russia) became the second place winner. Vera Katsuba (Russia) became the third place winner.
For CT 5 km race Boris Isaev (Russia) was the best. Maxim Sazanov (Russia) was the second. Roman Medvedev (Russia) was the third. Among ladies Arina Golovlyanitsina (Russia) became the best. Anna Savelyeva (Russia) became the second. Ekaterina Ushakova (Russia) became the third.
