Great weekend at the Demino Ski Marathon
Raul Shakirzyanov and Alena Perevozchikova on the top of the 50km podium in Rybinsk
On February, 29 near Rybinsk the first race day ended with the free style 50km race of XIII. International Rostec Demino ski marathon FIS\Worldloppet. More than two thousand participants went to the start of the 50 km race, more than six thousand people became fans of the bright sporting event. The best results were shown by Raul Shakirzyanov and Alena Perevozchikova.
Athletes and amateurs from 18 countries of the world and 60 regions of Russia took part in the main race.

The winner of XIII. International Rostec Demino ski marathon FIS\Worldloppet was Raul Shakirzyanov, already winner of the Dolomitenlauf 42km FT on January 18th. He crossed the finish line after 2 hours one minute and 27 seconds after the start. This is his second gold on the Demino course. The first victory was in 2017.
The favorite Rybinsk fan – Nikita Kryukov – came to the finish line with 37 result in the overall standings. After falling and breaking a pole, he overcame in two hours and 14 minutes and reacted with humor to the situation.
On March 1, the day of classic races of Rostec Demino ski marathon traditionally gives young athletes the opportunity to test their strength on the international sports course. For young skiers was prepared 2, 5 and 10 kilometers distances. The most touching was Baby marathon. Little skiers finished a kilometer lap at the stadium. Here everyone performed under the first number and received a real marathon medal.
The main 25 km race of the second competition day began at 11 o’clock. Participants started from four starting corridors with an interval of three minutes. Among the first to go the distance was the winner of Sochi 2014 Olympics in the team sprint, three-time world champion Nikita Kryukov and the bronze medalist of Vancouver Olympics Nikolay Morilov, the winner of XIII. The oldest participant was 97-year-old Norwegian Hoeeg Jan Thomas. He has been skiing since he was five years old. This is his second visit to Russia, both times he came to a sports ski event.< Back
