König Ludwig Lauf

Historic collaboration between Northug’s Janteloppet and König Ludwig Lauf

A groundbreaking cross-border partnership in cross-country skiing has been established: Janteloppet AS, the ski race founded by cross-country skiing legend Petter Northug, and the König Ludwig Lauf, Germany’s largest cross-country skiing event, have announced a landmark collaboration.

Starting in 2026, a new race from the König Ludwig Lauf will be integrated into the Janteloppet Grand Prize Championship series, adding a new European dimension to this prestigious race series. Northug emphasized that this partnership not only expands the race portfolio but also strengthens the close connection between Norway and Germany in the sport of cross-country skiing.

Marc Schauberger, CEO of the König Ludwig Lauf, is also very excited about the collaboration, which will bring cross-country skiing to a new international stage and create unforgettable experiences for athletes and fans alike.
