König Ludwig Lauf weekend concluded with Swedish double victory
Kaiser weather on the King Ludwig weekend in Oberammergau. Today 850 skiers have participated in the Classic Technique races of König Ludwig Lauf. The weather was perfect for a ski marathon: Sunshine but minus degrees. A perfect day of marathon skiing in the valley between Ettal and Oberammergau.
This weather conditions made the tracks quite fast, so the winners arrived to the finish in an astonishing time of 1:44 (43km).Especially the men’s final was an exciting one: The first four skiers have crossed the finish line within one second. Sweden’s Max Novak reached out his toe tip the most and won, ahead of the Norwegian Petter Skinstad. Third place again goes to Norway, to Herman Paus. Yesterday’s skating winner, Gustav Berglund (Sweden) is the fourth in this heartbeat final.

Also the women’s competition has a Swedish winner: Lina Korsgren has repeated her victory from 2019. 2 minutes 50 later her team mate and compatriot Ida Dahl arrived to Oberammergau as second. The third place stays in Germany: Franziska Müller grabbed the third place with plus 9:42.

Four new Worldloppet Masters awarded at König Ludwig Lauf
We also had the honor, to hand over Worldloppet Master diplomas to four skiers. Right in the Finish the skiers had been awaited with cheers and their well deserved Diploma. An official from König Ludwig Lauf and from Worldloppet awarded the new masters.

Sweden dominating also yesterday’s skating competition
In yesterday’s skating competitions the Swedes from Team Ramudden also were dominating. At least in the men’s race. Gustaf Berglund won the final sprint against his team mate Johannes Eklöf. Third place went to Christian Winker from Germany.
