News from Japan: the Sapporo International Ski Marathon is forced to cancel
After yesterday’s new about the König Ludwig Lauf in Germany, the Japanese race announces cancellation too

Bad news coming from Japan: the Worldloppet race Sapporo international ski marathon is forced to cancel the race due to lack of snow. The difficult snow situation had already been announced, but now the decision has been taken and the race won’t take place on February 2nd.
The Organizing Committee announces:
The 40th Sapporo International Ski Marathon, scheduled to be held on Sunday, February 2nd in 2020, will be cancelled due to unusual shortage of snowfall. We are not able to groom the course. We had to make this heartbreaking decision as our priority is to ensure the safety of all participants.
We, the organizing committee, apologizes to you all for this great inconvenience from the bottom of our hearts.
We will deal with this cancellation as the following.
- Regarding the registration fee
We will refund all amount of the registration fee to cancel the payment by credit card.
It will take some time to complete all the procedures. Thank you very much for your understanding.
