Once again – Alfredo Moreno won the SEB 7th Tartu Rulluisumaraton!

For the third time, skater from Venezuela, Alfredo Moreno won the SEB Tartu Rulluisumaraton (this year held for the 7th time), 48 kilometers long race from Jogeva to Tartu. The second was Kaur Meressaar (EST) and the third Danila Ruusu (EST). 

The winner, Moreno (also won the race in 2009 and in 2011) outraced in group finsh his team members Kaur Meressaar and Danila Ruusu. His time was 1:19:30. All three men, the top three, belonged to the team Uus Maa/Rullibaas. The top four had time differences only within half a second. 

“Sprint is my trump and I used it. The whole team worked for me and everything went as planned – our men were in the top three,” said Moreno happily, as he also won yesterday’s 3rd Tartu Inline Sprint. 

The best Estonian, Kaur Meressaar finished barely as second, but was still happy over his position. “Victory is not the most important. We are happy we got the triple victory. This was the plan and it worked. The teamwork was great,” said Meressaar, who was quite secretive about their team tactics during the race. 

The winner of the SEB 1st Tartu Rulluisumaraton, Danila Ruusu, finished third and behind him was Roberts Pundurs from Latvia. The best man from Tartu was Vahur Valvas from Tartu Rulluisuklubi and he finished fifth. 

The women’s winner was Marina Zuevale from Belarus, who was third in yesterday’s 3rd Tartu Inline Sprint. She lost to Moreno only by 16 seconds and she finished as the 27th in the overall standings with time 1:19:46. Yesterday’s sprint winner Anna Muzyka from Ukraine was second today (time 1:21:16), the best Estonian Enel Kõrva was third woman to cross the finish line with the time of 1:21:17. 

For Alfredo Moreno the SEB 7th Tartu Rulluisumaraton was the last race for this season. He will now return to Venezuela and continues with his college studies.
