Positive signs from Argentina: Ushuaialoppet organizers working on 2027

Last week, after the Annual General Meeting we have reported about the cancellation of Ushuaialoppet 2025 due to financial challenges. Also in the organizing team has changed. After some meetings with the new team, we can forward positive signs from Patagonia: The organizers have a plan to welcome back international skiers, specially Worldloppeters, in August 2027. Therefore the team is currently constructing the trails in Tierra Mayor.

In August 2026, as a first step, they want to organize the Ushuaialoppet again as smaller, local event. A year later, in 2027, it should be back as an international race and part of the Worldloppet calendar.

“Of course, we try to help our Argentinian friends as good as we can, to see them back on the calendar of the greatest skimarathons in the world in 2027. I am confident, the team onsite is working hard to make things happen and that the skiers will have the chance to collect a stamp to their Worldloppet Passport at the End of the World again next year.”, says Epp Paal, Worldloppet CEO.
