- The objective of Worldloppet Virtual Racing League (hereinafter VR, or Virtual Racing) is to give to virtual participants of Worldloppet member races an additional playful output with remote participation, in order to keep the Worldloppet community active while real races cannot be held or are held due to travel restrictions for local participants only.
- To become a VR a person has to take part in 7 different virtual events organized by Worldloppet Ski Federation members. After completing 7 races, the VR title will be issued and for an extra payment, it will be possible to download a special diploma as a certificate of that achievement.
- A virtual race can be a substitute for a cancelled race or a separate distance of the real race. (For example, Merino Muster 2020 organized a real race as well as virtual race).
- Virtual races can be Worldloppet winter or summer calendar races. One event per organizer counts for Virtual Racer achievement.
- Participation in Worldloppet virtual races does not give a stamp for Worldloppet passport and credit for becoming a Worldloppet Master.
- Participation in Worldloppet virtual races does not give the Global Ranking points.
- There is no limit on distance passed or type of sports used to complete the VR status, the time of completing the distance should be recorded though as evidence of finishing the race. The race must be completed by own propulsion. Participants will be not ranked, results will be presented stating participants name, nationality, time and length of the distance passed & sport used to complete the distance.
- The list of completed participants will be sent by race organizer to Worldloppet in order to form standings and keeping track of completed participants. During the registration, races must ask for consent from the participants for forwarding their results to Worldloppet to comply with GDPR, as usual practice.
- Virtual race results will be visible for MyLoppet registered users only. Worldloppet website visitors will see list of virtual races available in calendar and the list of virtual races which have the uploaded results. After clicking on race result of a virtual race, the user will be asked to log in to MyLoppet environment to see more info.
- A virtual participant can see the list of completed races on Worldloppet website MyLoppet section after registering as a user. During the registration as a MyLoppet user, a participant has to agree to provide Worldloppet an e-mail address, full name, full date of birth, gender and nationality in order to match the race results and keep track on races completed by the participant. The E-mail address will be used for sending newsletter and VR diploma. No data will be forwarded to third parties and will be used for the ranking purposes only. Registration to MyLoppet and as Virtual Racer is free of charge.
All participants of Virtual Racing can enter a special Facebook Group dedicated to the Virtual Racing League, to exchange experiences, pictures, achievements, joy and efforts
