Sapporo Skimarathon 2025: A Celebration of Skiing Spirit in Japan
Tomorrow, February 2nd, the Worldloppet circuit continues its global journey with the 45th edition of the Sapporo Skimarathon in Japan. Despite recent mild weather conditions, dedicated organizers have ensured a successful race by preparing a well-groomed 10 km loop, now in excellent shape.

An Adapted Course, But Unchanged Enthusiasm
While the original course had to be adjusted due to weather challenges, the spirit of the event remains strong. Participants looking to earn a Worldloppet gold stamp must complete 30 km (three laps of the 10 km loop), while those aiming for a silver stamp will ski 10 km (one lap). Fortunately, the past few days have brought steady snowfall to Sapporo, enhancing the track conditions just in time for race day.
A Global Gathering in Sapporo
With around 800 registered skiers, the event attracts a mix of passionate local competitors and international participants who have made the journey to Japan for this prestigious race. Today’s Worldloppet Welcome Party provided a fantastic opportunity for international and local skiers to meet, exchange stories, and celebrate their shared love for cross-country skiing.

Race Day Highlights & Weather Conditions
The starting gun will fire at 09:00 local time, sending skiers onto the scenic course. Beyond the competition itself, tomorrow is also a special day for several athletes who are set to be crowned new Worldloppet Masters, having completed their 10th Worldloppet race.
With temperatures forecasted around 0°C and cloudy skies, conditions should be favorable for an exciting and memorable race.
