The new season starts with very bad news!

The organisers of the Ushuaia Loppet 2016 – the Worldloppet season opening – had to announce today that the event planned for the 13th of August will be cancelled because of completely missing snow.
Today the organisers had to cancel the Ushuaia Loppet pre-events, scheduled for the weekend. But already today it was also clear that there is no chance for the main events because of absolutely no snow on the course and even the weather forecast is not predicting any good news: No significant amount of extra snow during the next week.

So the final decision, originally planned to be announced on Wednesday, was taken already today because there was no point of delaying, it is very clear, that there is no chance to organise Ushuaia Loppet this year. In whole South Argentina, there is no snow at the moment, what is very unusual for this region.
