Organisers hoped for approximately 200 participants, but there were altogether 577 participants. With the help of pharmaceutical company Teva the donated sum was 3808 Euros.

The programme of the running marathon consisted of more events than the main event on the 12th of May. Official training, children’s events, charity run together with the running marathon itself brought together 8336 people that is 1546 people more than in 2012.

Race director Kunnar Karu: “Organising the running marathon went quite calmly and I am happy that we had the chance to offer the best marathon emotions for so many people. I am especially glad that children’s events are popular as the children are the future of our sports.” About the future: “There aren’t very big plans concerning the running marathon, but we have some plans concerning the course – the idea is to change the course a bit so it is more united with the legendary Tartu ski marathon course,” says Karu.
