20th edition of Marcialonga Stars for Charity and Cancer research with moto-GP rider Marco Melandri

The Ski Marathon in Val di Fiemme and Val di Fassa is going to be as already announced on the 70km track on Sunday, January 26th with 7500 skiers, a magnificent event surrounded by many other side events to fill in an exceptional weekend from tomorrow until Sunday.

Bibs distributions is already on, at the Palafiemme in Cavalese, together with the Story Village, the vintage skis exhibition the vintage ski book and the Marcialonga temporary store, with a new outline, to discover.

Tomorrow at 15.30 the ‘baby dance’ waiting for the Marcialonga Baby, from 16.00 to 17.30 in Predazzo. On Saturday the party goes on with the 8th Edition of Marcialonga Story, a 11 km walk from the Nordic Ski Center in Lago di Tesero to the Predazzo city center, already sold out with 300 bibs and many more requests.

Afterwards, the Marcialonga Stars that is reaching the 20th Edition, a charity event that raises fund for LILT, the association that researchs against cancer, with skiers on skis or snow shoes, for both kids and grown ups. At the start the Moto GP champion Marco Melandri accompanied by his wife, Marco Albarello (Olympic gold and in the World Championships) , Maria Canins (record of victories in Marcialonga), Antonella Confortola (local athlete, bronze and silver at the world Championships), the legendary Franco Nones the biker bikers Claudia Paolazzi, Gilberto Simoni and the Olympic champions Giorgio Vanzetta and Cristian “Zorro” Zorzi You will be able to register on the day before 12 in Lago di Tesero. After this, the 35th Minimarcialonga, a 3 km loop for kids 6-12 years and the 10th Marcialonga Young for young athletes 13-20 years.

On Sunday many gourmets stand, music and entertainment fire up Cavalese village. The start of Visma Ski Classics elite group is in Moena at 7.50 (women race) and at 8.00 (men race), followed by all the “amateurs”, while at 8.45 in Lago di Tesero will be the turn of all the Young categories.

20 National live coverages, with Sky Sport and Sky Sport Arena ready to broadcast Marcialonga from 7.40 to 12.00. A the start of this edition there will be Marco Melandri – a motorcycling star, the legend Petter Northug, the four times Olympic Champion Dario Cologna and Sjur Roethe trying to battle with the long distance’s skiers who have always dreamed to win Marcialonga at least once in their career. In the evening all the people will wait for the last participant, hugging as always by fireworks around 6.30 p.m.
