The world’s largest children’s bike event will be held on the 1st of June in Estonia

On the 1st of June, on Internation Children’s Day, SEB 32nd Tartu Rattaralli children’s races will be held in Tartu city centre. Altogether 3500 little bikers are expected to take part in the event. With that high number of participants it is a unique bike event specially meant for children.

Last year, the commissar of the UCI and the main commissar of Estonian Cycling Weekend 2012, Mr. Andreas Gensheimer, noted that he has never seen a children’s bike race that big in the whole world. Last year 3347 children took part in the races, this year organizers expect to host 3500 children.

Event is also unique because it is not a competition – all children receive a medal and a diploma. Participation is free of charge and there are several entertainment activities and also raffle prizes are given out at the spot. Races are for children in any age.  TILLUrace, for up to 6-years, has distances from 500 meters to 1,1 kilometres, for older children, the MINIrally has distances from 5,2 until 10,5 kilometres.

It is also a unique chance for the children to race in Tartu city centre on the same track where a few hours later professional cyclists race. Right after the children’s races, pro cycling competition, Tartu Grand Prix begins. Tartu Grand Prix is the final stage of Tour of Estonia 2013 cycling tour.

SEB 32nd Tartu Rattaralli takes place on the 2nd of June with distances 135 and 65 kilometres. Altogether, Tour of Estonia 2013 (starts at May 30th in Tallinn) and SEB 32nd Tartu Rattaralli form a unique, spectacular and exciting cycling weekend – the Estonian Cycling Weekend 2013.
