A month from La Transjurassienne, volunteers and organizers are doing their best to make
this 35th edition a great success. The last snowfalls are just a foretaste of the wonderful
sceneries of the Montagnes du Jura that the 3,250 registered participants will be enjoying
along the track. Over the years, la Transju has become a lively patrimony of the Franche-
Comté area. Such is the magic of the largest French mass ski event: it attracts both the
recreational skiers and the international champions. This year again, it will welcome
participants from various French departments as well as many countries, all eager to ski on
the Jura and Doubs tracks and discover the incomparable passion of the “franc-comtois”
supporters! Emotion, self-surpassing and of course incredible ambiance are the key
ingredients of the week-end! So let’s all Transju together!

A great international participation
This year again, 23 nationalities have registered in the various events so far. Along the Transju
tracks, we will have the opportunity to meet Japanese, Australians, Austrians, Canadians, Danes,
Norwegians, Finns, Swedes, Estonians, English, Germans, Poles, Italians, Spaniards, Russians,
Czechs, Slovaks, Swiss, Americans, Liechtensteiners… there’s even a racer coming from as far as
India!

“Great Ambassadors” for a great race!
We all know the “Senators”, these relentless skiers who have raced and finished all Transju events
since 1979… Trans’Organisation is now wishing to extend its recognition to other “diehards” by
creating the “Great Ambassadors” group. To join this group, currently composed of about 50
enthusiasts, it is necessary to have completed at least 25 Transjurassienne races! A big cheer for
their energy and tenacity!

Working even harder for sustainability through eco-citizenship
This 35th edition is decidedly taking on an even more sustainable approach to reduce its impact on
the environment by continuing to sensitize the public and participants.
Each year the participants are being informed and involved through concrete actions: documents
printed on recycled paper, waste reduction, recycling, sorting, promotion of local organic products…
The technical collaboration between Groupe Tétras Jura, the Parc Naturel Régional du Haut-Jura
and the ONCFS resulted in the environmental impact file that best protects the wood grouse.
A specific convention has been signed between Trans’Organisation and Groupe Tétras Jura to work
together for the preservation of the specie. Information boards have been printed and a flyer will be distributed among the Tourist information offices, lodgers and main partners to increase public awareness and responsibility.
